Wildlife on the Ivory Coast
The Ivory Coast is a rain forest region giving way for many types of wildlife. The majority of the wildlife consists of primates such as the Diana monkey, the Mona monkey, and the olive colobus. There are also animals such as the even-toed ulungate. Crocodiles, pythons, and chameleon are types of dangerous reptiles and amphibians that reside in the Ivory Coast, making life occasionally difficult for the natives of the country. As of 2002 at least 482 species consisting of only mammals and birds were recorded throughout the country.
